Blooming out of season

This cactus was my Mom's that I moved to my home after she died 7 years ago.  I have never repotted it or done anything to it except water about once a month and feed it in March and November..when it usually blooms.   

So this week, it has just burst out in blooms for some reason..maybe because my Mom's birthday is this month.   She lets me know things.
