Cala Sant Vincenc
The free local guide book has some top tips for places to visit. Much better than the guide book we brought with us, or the Lonely Planet one that we found left in the car hire (and a free travel book for Mr S to enjoy!).
Very near to us, is the three bays of Cala Sant Vincenc. We visited it briefly a few days ago, and in a thunderstorm it looked like Cornwall. Today we headed back.
Found a lucky parking space and 4 sun beds on the pebbly beach. Bit jaggy for walking into the water (bring your flip flops) but worth the effort. It's been nearly 30 years since I've dipped a toe in the Med - I convinced myself I don't like sea swimming - but turns out I just don't like North Sea swimming !
Fairly shallow waters, loads of space for snorkeling, No 3 spent about an hour diving below to chase little schools of fish and the crabs which nip your toes. It was Divine.
We explored the two other bays. There were places where you could drop straight into the crystal clear water from the stone footpaths. Further out there were even people jumping in from the cliffs and rocks. I'm not leaving it another 30 years to return here!
This evening's entertainment was provided by the metamorphosed (and deliciously camp) 'Freddy' from the previous night's 'Queen Tribute Band', who tonight were playing a more contemporary selection. Although Freddy's perfectly clipped BBC English doesn't seem to work when singing Oasis !
