Pitmuies Gardens, Near Forfar

Yesterday was a total washout, so I didn't take any photos at all, but today we decided to brave the grey clouds and visit another garden with friend M.  She rather likes gardens:-)  We went back to Pitmuies Garden near Forfar and enjoyed the place entirely to ourselves.  The weather stayed dry and we had a lovely stroll round the huge grounds.  So many unusual plants to see and such immaculate lawns:-)

We also had a quick visit to Balgavies Loch to see the ospreys and were lucky enough to spot a parent and chick.  The chick was obviously hungry and flew around the nest squawking to attract the missing parent bird, which had obviously gone fishing and forgotten to return.  It still hadn't come back by the time we left:-)

The rain started as soon as we got back in the car, but had stopped again when we arrived home.  How lucky is that?
