Poppies in corn field

My wife was walking the dogs in there field just  across the Bielwater yesterday afternoon and commented on the wildflowers there. When I went to look at them this morning, I noticed that most of the poppies were well past their best and what the eye is drawn to as specks of red in the yellow corn looks a bit shabby in close up. I hoped that by using a shallow depth of field to recreate the that feeling of red dots in the yellow that the eye uncritically sees.
