Diary of an Edinburgher

Sleepover!

The Royal Mile will just have to do without us today - Bailey came to visit. With her own bed! Yes, she's having a sleepover!

She's definitely the boss even in Archie's house. He's so sweet, because Bailey will see him chewing at, eg, his antler, and she comes and takes it off him. He just lets her, and watches till she's finished, then gets it again. She also sits on his special mat on the sofa, so he rests his chin on the sofa, sticks his face into hers, willing her to get off, then gives up and lies on the floor.

They've had a couple of plays out in back garden. Well, Archie plays with the ball and the frisbee if Bailey won't play with him. She just stands by, with a look of, possibly, disdain. Definitely incomprehension, at his frantic antics, thinking, 'Why on earth would you chase a silly ball?'

See the Extra shot. Archie was really trying hard to impress Bailey with his ball skills. I don't think it's working, Arch!

JR took them both up The Hill in the afternoon. (I have a nagging little cough that I don't want to develop into a nagging big cough). They met Sammy and Rosie, two schnauzers who frequent The Hill. That would have been a great photo - four of 'em!

Sleepover tonight could be interesting. Bailey likes to nip into a human bed in the middle of the night... Archie likes to do that too, but has learned that the rules have changed and that bedrooms are now out of bounds. Bailey will have to come to that realisation too tonight.

Wish us luck!

PS I couldn't level the shot, as it cut off too much of the ball. The clothes pole isn't skewiff.
