Nairn East Beach
Today’s orienteering was in Strathfarrar. The parking field was very wet and the poor souls doing the parking were having a hard time. We got in ok and cycled the 2 kilometres to assembly and then worked for 3 hours in the entries tent. It was manic again and I was so frazzled I made a ness of the first and third controls. I never saw the crag near the first control I wanted to use as a catching feature. The end of the course was good albeit a mudfest. We got out of the parking field ok as the person realised that campervans need a clear run. We then travelled over to Nairn East Beach where we cooked our tea and then had a walk afterwards. The evening was warm and sunny and this is the view over the Moray Firth to the north west. The ripples in the sand and the water along with the late light make you realise that Scotland is every bit as good as anywhere else, even if our hills are smaller.
