'First day!'

Having watched Gardener's World last Friday evening...I suggested we visit Parham House in West Sussex...en route to Chandlers Ford. The A27 has been closed due to the horrendous plane crash yesterday...so we took a different route to Amberley..then on to Pulborough. It was pouring with rain all the way...we walked around the gorgeous walled gardens with umbrellas..feet soaking. By 1pm the sun was out..everything looked fresh and gorgeous. The gardeners at Parham House are doing a trial of Sunflowers this year. They were wonderful! The Elizabethan House was full of original arts and wonderful tapestries etc..a lot dating back to 1660's.
A wonderful place for a visit!

At 5pm we continued our drive.....the motorway was reasonable! It seems strange to be staying at my daughters house with none of them here...they are having a great holiday!
We went out for dinner this evening....lovely day!
