Easedale Tarn, near Grasmere

Set off yesterday evening to the Travelodge in Northampton for an overnight stay enroute for another 3 nights at the Inn on the Lake, Ullswater before moving on to Shrewsbury for the Folk Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This morning's journey started off well but was hampered for at least an hour on M6 between J17 and 18 by an accident. Long queues forced us to take a detour only to come up against roadworks!

No matter, we arrived safely in Windermere and had a bite to eat before moving on to Grasmere for a short walk to Easedale Tarm, which was where this shot was taken.

From there it was over The Kirkstone Pass and down to Glenridding and the Inn on the Lake ready for a drink and a good meal in superb surroundings over looking Ullswater.
