The Old Public Baths, Penarth. Vale of Glamorgan.

This wonderful old Jacobean style building built in 1884 boasted two swimming baths and seven slipper baths. Sea water was drawn from the Bristol Chanel for use in the baths which boasted both hot and cold water. During the winter months the pools were boarded over and it became a gymnasium.  Exactly 100 years later, the baths closed due to a lack of interest and use. It was then turned into a pub/restaurant called "In at the deep end" which eventually failed. The place then fell into a state of ruin. In 2005, the building was bought by a local business man who converted it into a luxurious dwelling. He has decided to sell up with an asking price of £1.2 million. I think it is a fabulous building and well worth a blip!
