A trip to the Edinburgh Book Festival to hear Hyeonseo Lee speak about her memoirs. She's a North Korean defector.

Very glad I did. She has experienced things we just can't comprehend. To give an example, in North Korea attendance at public executions (by hanging)  is compulsory. She was 7 years old when she saw her first.

The Blip is from Cockburn Street, where I ate before the event (not at the Ghurka, although I was tempted). It was warm enough for people to sit out to eat. Worth a Blip, I thought.
