Peter the potter

Peter is a potter
and a damn fine one at that
his clay stands tall upon the wheel 
- it never falls down flat

Our friend Peter the potter is 62 today.  He will celebrate his birthday surrounded by family; children, grandchildren and his adoring wife Sally.

They will party at his bedside with homemade pizzas and read out cards and emails and poems  and all manner of greetings from friends.  

They will laugh, tell jokes and reminisce and raise a glass or two.  They will not be sad today; sadness will come soon enough.

Anniemay and I will do the same (with your fine mugs).
