Welcome to London
Terminal 3 arrivals at Heathrow has little to commend it, but a giant astroturf armchair is always a welcome sight. Well, when it takes nearly an hour for people to clear baggage and customs on an already delayed flight, you need to be able to rest your legs. They also have a grand piano, which some show-offs simply can't resist tinkling with.
The Dizzle came home to foul weather and was very tired but bought back some lovely presents, lots of photographs and a few stories. New York captured his heart all over again, which doesn't surprise me. Ms F's parents stopped for coffee before whisking her away so it was a sociable morning all in all. Then we had a very late lunch - or very early dinner - at 4pm. A very fine roast indeed; the mushroom and haloumi pie was by general agreement a stonker. Plus some excellent wine, a present from Top Gun from Father's day. All we were missing was an orangutan dressed in women's clothing eating turnips, but you can't have everything. After all, we're not French royalty.
Good day despite the rain. Lovely to have The Dizzle home again. Sponge puddings and an early night beckons.
