Cigs

St Clair Avenue

After the festival, the hangover. Well, for me, anyway. After an explosive evening (I did briefly contemplate trying to get the end of festival fireworks into a Cigs blip but there was nothing I could find that would get both things in, so...), it's the best two weeks to be in Edinburgh.

The festive throng melts away, the undergraduates have yet to roll into town, so now you can get a table, get from A to B without it taking 3 hours AND run the risk of lemming like tourists walking into your path, and Edinburgh generally becomes a liveable city again.

In Leith this morning as I dropped off paperwork early on, there was a lack of anyone / anything about, and air of bemusement at the empty streets, the lack of bus stops crammed with people consulting apps and pointing. I had to wait ages before my bemused subject crashed the shot; she was incredulous at being able to walk the streets without being accosted and asked where venue 34 is or does this bus go to Princes St?

White pen on black paper recycling bin; undated. And the smell of cheap fabric conditioner has yet to go; this one is right next to the laundry.

Extra - I also passed the Cigs that was the spark for this blip journal today. This was the place where the light bulb moment happened. Funny thing inspiration, cos it doesn't look very a very inspiring scene...!
