Abel Tasman Track

I felt I just couldn't be in Marahau without doing at least some of the track.
Jasper and I were up and organised fairly early so I drove to the start of the track and went for a walk.  I assumed dogs weren't allowed so Jasper had to wait in the van - I didn't actually see any signs saying she wasn't allowed but it's a National Park so it seemed best to leave her behind.

I only walked in for half an hour, and then out again.  This is taken as I was coming back across the wetland.   Unfortunately I'd made that embarrassing mistake and all my earlier photos of the bush were on the wrong settings.  Sometimes there might be something to be said for leaving the camera on auto!

After my walk I headed for Motueka where I was forced to buy a pair of shoes from one of my favourite shoe shops.  Oh, darn!

We spent most of the afternoon catching up with friends at Mapua.  I love outdoor seating that means you can take dogs to the cafe with you.
