Dog Show

What a lovely day - September so far is trying to make up for June and July...

This afternoon we went to a Dog Show at Braidburn Valley Park, and it was mobbed! Archie was great - just saying hi to all the dogs and not barking. We met up with Bailey and her mum. It was good fun, with every type of dog there, and several schnauzers. Of course, it being a fine day, the organisers were overwhelmed. Which meant that each competition had far too many dogs. Or else the ring was too small...

Archie entered the 'Most Handsome Dog' class. Didn't even get to the shortlist. We saw Rio - he won a rosette for 'Cutest Puppy'. Bailey got through to the second round in the 'Prettiest Bitch' class! And what a fuss Archie made when she went off to compete! Yelping and carrying on while she trotted off without a backward glance. Everyone was looking to see who was torturing the poor wee dog!

After the Dog Show we gathered up Archie's overnight stuff and dropped him off at a new (to us) Dog Sitter for the evening. Some crossed wires, though. The Sitter I booked was not the Sitter that JR thought I'd booked and so when we chatted about it this last week or so, the two different Sitters were merged. We were expecting a resident Tibetan Terrier. But instead there's a resident Rottweiler! We didn't meet him, but apparently he's not territorial... Good luck Arch.

An evening without Archie again. But a big roast dinner to cheer us up. And a couple of G&Ts.

Here's a shot of Archie and Bailey paying close attention to what's going on in the judging ring.
