Village sports evening

I'm rushing around like the proverbial blue a**** fly at the moment so I aplogise for the lack of comment on your blips.

Yesterday's half marathon was just a training run for Saturday, and today the media machines have swung into action. I knew a lot of people would want a piece of me in the build up and afterwards and I see it as just one part of this amazing experience.

I'm now getting the media requests and requests from a variety of places for appearances. And I am trying to satisfy as many as I can, especially for kids.

But today was exciting for different reasons. On my way home I met a large group of inspirational cyclists who were gathering together to ride together for the last 2 miles of their Tower to Tower ride (Eiffel to Blackpool).

And tonight we gathered as a village for the children's sports that were postponed from Saturday. Our regular PA man was missing for the first time in decades (yes decades) and it wasn't the same without him. I stood in and did it my way and made sure he got the credit he deserves for his contibution not only o the Club Day weekend but to just aout everything good that happens in Freckleton. I actually called him Mr Freckleton in my tribute.

The weather was much kinder than Saturday and we got all the kid's sport done in lovely sunshine. We got everything finished and a pint in just as the heavens opened again.
