The perfect treat

This is a coffee bun and it’s homemade by me. 


You never see these nowadays. You could describe it as being somewhere between a cake and a cookie. Coffee buns are just the best things ever for a mid morning or afternoon tea or coffee break. When I was young these were staples as a midweek tweet. 

The very best coffee buns were made by the “City Bakeries” a company long gone that had branches across Glasgow and the west of Scotland. 

I managed to track down the original recipe - and it has gone down a storm!
