Undergraduate in waiting

My niece Katie will soon head to Edinburgh University to study mandarin and business. Today was all about a wee gathering of the soup and sandwiches kind with her extended family to say Bon voyage, wind her up (which didn't work) and see her mum keep herself busy dispensing the food to keep her mind off her youngest heading off into the world. Big milestone for all.

Katie's Impending overnight learning curve in organising herself is softened a wee bit by the fact it's catered halls (phew). And we never really grow out of the shellshock of leaving kidulthood behind; realising she forgot her foo fighter tickets as the train went past Arbroath a few days after will no doubt be the first of many adult cold sweat moments she will have, much like the rest of us have on a weekly basis...or is that just me.....
