Decided to leave the flat, leave Edinburgh, leave my second year at uni, and go back to Bath tomorrow. Been thinking about packing the bags for a while, but the need to get those documents was making me unwilling to book anything concrete.

It's surprising how much stuff you accumulate living somewhere for a year - It took me about 5 hours to pack (while dancing to Arcade Fire's set at Reading last year) and I filled 4 huge bags, and gave a substantial amount to charity.

Tomorrow's train (7am!!) is going to be interesting, seeing as I've got a bike as well! I just hope I've got long enough to get on and off, and that I don't fall asleep and wake up somewhere in deepest darkest Devon.

Once packed, and once another package home (30kgs!) had been picked up, I was free to leave the confines of my bare room and venture outside. Amazing day, sunny and warm - the meadows were almost empty, though - if the students were still about it would be packed with people and BBQs, an instant festival atmosphere.

Went to Tom's house to borrow some Allan keys, but the proved elusive, and we had to settle for tea and ice cream (which seems to be in constant supply at Tom's house). We stayed for pizza and to watch the football, which England won - a nice surprise!

While we were there, a sub-letter arrived, and hadn't been told that she couldn't stay until September, as the lease had changed... was pretty awkward. Hard to break the news to someone rocking up with stuff for a few months.

Back home, early night for tomorrow. I wish porters and luggage carriages still existed.
