Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Busy day. With scones.

A busy day today - visited Uncle A, as he had mentioned he had some pictures ready to hang up. So they were successfully hung without any bashed thumbs or bad words. Unfortunately, his wifi isn't working - the BT man plugged in the hub and said it was working, but didn't actually try it on anything - eg the iPad. But he's definitely feeling more at home now - once you get your pictures up, that helps.

In the afternoon, we joined Bailey and her mum for a trip to Cramond. I tried for ages to get an action shot of the two dogs racing along the beach, but Bailey, even if she was held back a wee bit, was always miles ahead of Arch, so they were never in the same frame. But it did tire them out running backwards and forwards between JR and J.

We had time for a sit down at the cafe, along with three jolly sailors who had just arrived in a wee yacht, saying they were heading for Norway... We didn't like to tell them they were well off course!

Scones and a big pot of tea just hit the spot.

Another treat on the way home - we called in at Lauriston Castle, a place we've never been too. Wonderful grounds, although dogs were to be kept on the lead (we did break the rules down at the beachfront). What a wonderful old building, facing out to the firth. Another visit to see round the house is planned.

JR has been researching cars. It is time for a new one, and a greater level of comfort is required, as befits our advancing age... We may go and look in caryards over the weekend. What fun!

Archie was sick twice today, but he cleaned up after himself, good lad.. Perhaps we should take him with us on any test drives, and if he's not sick, we'll buy it!

Archie is gazing longingly at stick, not the view. Did he go in and get it? Check out the extras.
