400m Dash
The 400m dash is one lap around the track and is usually a very close race most of the time. I was predicted to finish 3rd at this invite and that gave me a lot of confidence. When it was about 30 min before the race I began to feel very anxious like I always do before races. When we got our numbers for the race I felt even more anxious because I had gotten 1 which is one of the worst lanes to be running in. I told myself that it didn't matter what lane I was running in, I would do my absolute best. Finally they had all the 400m racers get on the track and shortly after my race had begun. I flew of my line and began running at 100% for the first 6 seconds of the race, I do this because I know that the body doesn't build up any amino acid for the first 6 seconds of running. After those 6 seconds I then slowed to about 90% and did this until there was about 125 meters left. Now came the hard part of giving it everything I had left in me and sprinted as hard as my body would let me until I finished the race. When I finished I had set my new PR with a time of 52.9 seconds and even though I placed 4th, I couldn't have been happier with the race.
