Glacial Lagoon

This was back-blipped due to lack of Internet access at the time.

We started the day at the beach near Jökulsárlón where chunks of iceberg wash ashore having broken off the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, an outlet glacier of the large Vatnajökull glacier. A very beautiful, and very strange experience.

This is one of the other outlet glaciers of Vatnajökull that is slowly melting into a peaceful, quiet lagoon. A stop for lunch was made amazing with this as the backdrop: we felt very small and very short-lived in comparison to this glacier.

A duck-boat trip on the lagoon at Jökulsárlón among the icebergs completed a wonderful, peaceful day.
