There's a military facility close to daughter #3's home and outside the gates, I saw this small memorial.  The streets and sidewalks in that area have been refurbished and this memorial was not there the last time I visited.  I have always felt humbled whenever thinking of all the men and women who serve our country in the military (all three of my brothers were in the military).   Have never photographed anything like this and even though it was on a relatively busy street, I felt very alone with this piece of sculpture, almost like a sanctuary, a holy place, honoring those who have given their lives to keep us free.
