Firewood under a Full Moon

I was hoping to get a shot of the mother elephant seal and her pup when in Timaru today, but after driving down to the port we decided against it. I've always enjoyed seeing wildlife up close, but to be greeted with the sight of the seal and her pup within a very small cordon that was surrounded by people made my heart sink a little. I hoped that she would have lots of open space around her and her pup, but the lack of it made me think twice about photographing her.

So after dark tonight I decided to head out into the garden to take a photo of the remains of the oak tree that we felled, in the moonlight, under the stars.
