Tri-Valley vs. Nativity
This season has been a rollarcoaster of great games we've played and many absolutely awful games, we had no idea how crazy this one against nativity would be. Nativity coming into this game was undefeated in division II which is our division and they had dominated teams such as williamsvalley and haven, beating both teams by a substantial amount of goals. We were the underdogs without question for this game and no one expected it to be close at all. The day of this game I happened to be very sick and I couldn't make it to school that day which left the team missing an important player. When the game started we quickly gave up 2 goals in the first 25 minutes and it seemed hopeless for us but in the last 17 seconds of the first half we happened to get a nice header and cut their lead down 2-1. This gave the team some hope coming into the second half but nativity got another goal and made it 3-1 but just a bit later we earned a penalty and made it 2-3. it was a very hard fought battle in the pouring rain and as I watched from the sidelines wishing badly that I could be out there with my team playing we ended up doing the impossible and scored the tying goal with about 10-15 minutes left. The team was filled with energy but nativity also woke up and they scored another goal in the last 9 minutes of play. I thought for sure that the game was over then but in the last two minutes of the game Jon Stiely made a ridiculous header from outside the box and tied up the game to take us into OT. The first OT was a very even battle where neither team could find the net but in the second OT nativity earned a corner and a unlucky bounce made the ball rebound of Bryce McNally and an own goal had taken away our chances of making the biggest upset of the year.
