Feed a cold, starve a fever.
At least I think my late mother's advice was this way round.
So a morning of sneezing, coughing and nose blowing with Mrs. K.away until lunchtime. Reading an interesting account of the impact of the University of Warwick on its local community over the fifty years since it was founded. But the print is very small and eyes need a rest.
Don't sit feeling sorry for yourself. Do something. So here is what I did.
I have this book of recipes put together by the Westmorland Federation of Womens' Institutes.
Here it is:
2oz soft margarine
8oz S.R. Flour
1 level teaspoon baking powder.
2oz sultanas
1oz caster sugar
7 tblsp of milk.
Sieve flour and b.p. Add all other ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon to form a dough. Knead lightly on a board until smooth. Roll out and cut out. Brush with milk. Bake 425F/ 220C for 12 to 15 minutes.
