Another morning photographing potential patients for Facing Africa. Lots of new people had turned up, hoping to be seen and treated. Every person was examined and assessed, but some had to be turned away.
Here you can see Helen and the two nurses at the Leonard Cheshire Home discussing who will be listed for surgery over the next two weeks. This little room is where we saw them all.
We finished at 2 o'clock and went for a late lunch, followed by the assessment meeting back at the hotel. This is where the plastic surgeons and anaesthetists decide on how and when the operations will happen and what equipment will be needed. There are problems with theatres at the hospital but we hope that these will be sorted out by tomorrow.
One problem which we can't solve is that our favourite cafe has been reduced to rubble as a result of road improvements. RIP Dandi Cafe :-(
