AUTUMNAL LIGHT

I discovered today again that the autumn is really my favoured season. Actually I love all seasons, but in autumn when one goes for a walk, the humid air, the fascinating colours of the trees, the comforting idea that when one comes home there will be warmth, hot tea or chocolate, and little fairy lights. The terrible events that take place in the world can be discarded, even only for a short time.
I grew up with the thread of a nuclear war, the peace after the world war had not lessen the thirst for power and might, an idea that I tried over and over to understand, but could not fathom, knowing too little of the facts that govern our globe.

In the afternoon Piet Hein and I drove to Helmarshausen, not far away, and walked a silent path. We met only a young woman with a child and a dog and I cherished this scene.

My haiku:

Forget the loudness
The absurdness and the stress
For a short time now

And the proverb:

Better sit still than rise and fall.
