Home(ish)

This evening we met the vendors of the house we're buying. It is a brother and sister, selling after the bereavement of their last surviving parent and they are thoroughly lovely people. They told us about how they grew up in the house and even threw in a few stories (involving climbing out of windows to meet girls for dates!)

We're almost there now and I think they wanted to meet us to see what kind of people they are letting into their childhood home (especially as they are allowing us to do some maintenance before completion). It's completely understandable and we were quite glad of the opportunity to show them that a new family would be starting new memories there.

The sister's parting words were "Mom and Dad would have approved of you." That's a sentiment that will stay with us for a long time.
