Biggar Blues

Biggar has a festival - the Biggar Little Festival and there is lots going on.  While Ellen contributed through the Open Studios weekend, we hadn't attended any of the events.  That's not good enough we thought.

So off we went to Biggar Snooker Hall to catch some acoustic blues.  We didn't even know Biggar has a snooker hall though, judging by the lack of snooker apparatus such as tables, it may be some time since it was played here.

We arrived half an hour early so were despatched to the pub and also told to bring our own supplies.  This we did.  And we came to enjoy some accomplished musicians playing a diverse programme with links to the blues though sometimes these were tenuous.

There was a portrait of Keith Richards on the wall behind the band and they did play a Rolling Stones song.  They were all excellent including the lead guitarist who really rocked.  I am sure he works in one of the local accountancy firms.  Weird.  But in a good way.
