The Brief Encounter

Today's the day ......................... for a works' outing

If you're a volunteer at the Heritage Centre at Carnforth Railway Station, you might have an inkling that any works' outing is going to be rather out of the ordinary.

And so it was.  We've spent the day on the 'Brief Encounter Special' - steaming our way to Chester, with a few hours there to explore the city before we steamed back again.  Chester is a lovely place to spend time in too, as you can see from the extra shot below. 

But the final icing on the cake was the fact that the steam engine that pulled us in our heritage carriages was none other than our old friend 'Galatea'.  You might remember that was the one that I missed seeing a few days back.

Today though, I was up close and very personal .....................!
