Saturday night in Portugal

We arrived! After a pretty good crack of dawn airport and plane experience (so much easier now she's older), we were all absolutely shattered so our first day was pretty non-eventful. We couldn't even be bothered to go out for dinner so got room service and an early night.

Woke up yesterday feeling a lot better. The hotel resort we are staying in is absolutely stunning. Was blown away when we arrived up its sweeping driveway with pine trees and fountains. Whitewashed buildings, dozens of swimming pools, little bridges and fountains. And sweeping views over the cliffs out to the sea.

Squidge loves the kids play area with two large pirate ships, a bouncy castle, slides and sand play pits. We thought we'd try her in the pirate club yesterday but she seemed pretty bored so not sure we'll do that again.

We all got dressed up and out for dinner last night which felt really special. The food is pretty incredible and there's so much choice even Squidge is happy with most of it. Now if we could just sort the weather out (our holiday curse strikes again) we'd be sorted!

We tucked into a bottle of red and didn't leave the dinner table until after 8 last night, carrying a pretty exhausted little lady up to bed (me!)
