Ice, Ice, Baby...

Awesome day.

Most of the day was spent either around the Jokarsalon ice lagoon (above) or on the ice beaches nearby.  In essence, the ice comes off the glacier into the lagoon and out to sea... before being pushed back onto shore by the tide.  Photography heaven! The extra shows some of the ice on the beach.

We were eventually dragged away to go and visit another glacier tip from the same ice cap (Vatnajokull? - I will check the spellings at some point.)  Here, the weather closed in, providing very soft light and misty conditions. 

Tomorrow will be wet and very windy as a storm is passing through, so we will stay put and do some processing... tomorrow's blip may be an interior shot, but we shall see.
