Banham Zoo
I took the grandchildren to Banham Zoo in Norfolk today, it rained all day but that didn't stop us having a lovely time.
Because of the weather not many animals were outside, except us, so photography was rather challenging, but the three of us managed to get some lovely captures.
This Sri Lankan Leopard is a new arrival to the Zoo from Le Pals Zoo in France and his female is from Bratislava Zoo in Slovakia. They are inside at present until they get used to their new environment and of course used to each other too! The Leopards that were resident at Banham Zoo have been moved to other Zoo's as part of the European Breeding Programme to ensure their survival.
The extra is the cutest little Red Panda, native to the Himalayas and SW China. These are classified as vulnerable with less than 10,000 worldwide and continue to decline due to threatened habitat loss and poaching. They are thankfully protected in their range countries.
