Royal visit? Movie star? That Bieber guy?

Nope. It's Kyle's graduation day at Silver Creek Primary School. And the snap-happy hordes are proud parents and grandparents of the Grade 8 graduating Class of 2012. Cocktail dresses, smart suits, presentations, a dance and parties galore afterwards. Then on to high school.

Whatever is the world coming to? In our day, we were herded out of junior school without ceremony, a note thrust into our sweaty palms informing our parents that we should report to our new school after the summer break. Suits, dresses, dances, parties? Hah! All we had to look forward to was a sadistic brute of a headmaster called Snaggy, and a stupid school uniform.
