Mr A, The Girl Racer's boyfriend, came to meet us for the first time today. Poor chap. If it was me I would think we were mad. Very nice guy, bought beer and flowers. Also knows how to chill on a settee, a talent which I admire. 

As for the rest:

Very full on day at work, including two training sessions on risk management. Worryingly, the response to the question "how do you mitigate the risk of your husband leaving the iron on?" was "get  a new husband".
