Before the fireworks

I attended the Children in Scotland annual conference today as I was taking part in a workshop discussing the children's hearings system and whether and how the voices of the vulnerable children are heard and respected.

The event took place at Celtic Park - my first visit there - and the workshop location overlooked the pitch. I don't think I've ever seen such an empty stadium. All was in readiness for the match tonight against the Norwegian side Molde in the Europa League.

I couldn't stay but by all accounts there were not enough bangs or flashes of inspiration from the home team who went down 1-2.
