Gerbera

We had the second of our village camera group sessions this evening - ably led by LooseCanon.
We were going to do some firework photography outdoors, but the weather was too bad for that. Plan B was to do some macro/close-up work indoors. I found it very helpful, as when else would I find 2 hours to just concentrate on one thing like that and to experiment with various settings/lighting/equipment etc.? 
Plus home-made shortbread and ginger cake. Can't be bad. Roll on next month's session!
By the way, the centre and back of the flower are out of focus as I was aiming to focus on the front petals with this shot.
