The Packet public house, Cardiff Bay.

This rather ordinary looking public house is where Shirley Bassey first started singing when she left school as a fourteen year old in 1951.  After leaving school, she worked in a factory in the daytime and sang in several pubs and clubs in the area during the evenings and at weekends. In 1953 she signed her first professional singing contract and the rest is as they say, history!
