"The World of Cyprus"

A bit of a cheat this but hey...

Overall I was not very impressed with Nicosia. However, one work of art made the trip worthwhile. In the splendid A. G. Levantis Gallery, built only a couple of years ago, is a truly monumental painting: "The World of Cyprus" created by Adamantios Diamantis between 1931 and 1959 in over 30 different locations on Cyprus. 1.75 metres by 17.5 metres and based on 69 drawings, it portrays the people and, to a lesser extent, landscapes of the island.

The above image is a photograph of a copy on linked postcards, showing the right half of the work. The extra is the left half.
