Bidborough

Having blipped Pembury's attractive village sign on Thursday I decided to check the state of my own village sign after wandering into the village to attend the Rememberance Day service.  It is sorely in need of a fresh coat of paint. I wonder when it was erected, perhaps I will ask the Parish Council and see if there is any interest in refreshing the picture.  
The village name in 12C was  Bittebergha which means Bitte's Hill.  And not, as I thought a borough of Tonbridge, as in Southborough the adjacent parish.
