twinned with trumpton

A restful morning (sleeping, mostly) before a big breakfast (OK, maybe more a brunch) and out into the pouring rain to Aberdour.

The plan was to walk some of the Fife Coastal Path and depending how far we got, grab a train back to the car. The first hour was a bit bleak; I'd have put money on not getting beyond Burntisland... But we plodded on through dead leaves and the dirty ground and enjoyed the peace, the generally flatter than the WHW terrain and soon enough the rain eased as we sneaked into Burntisland. I need to go back there properly and poke around; it was a fabulous wee place, full of possibilities for photos and adventures. But ignoring the lure of the Golf Tavern and the Silver Tassie we pushed on eastwards. The tide was up so instead of the beach walk to Pettycur, we had to walk alongside the road before dropping back down at Pettycur, and on around the corner. 2 hours in, we figured Kirkcaldy was easily reached and with blue skies now peeking through, we ramped up the pace and passed amazing sloes and increasingly gorgeous coastline and colours in the sky before we finally hit Kirkcaldy. A quick stroll past Stark's Park where Raith were busy losing to Falkirk and a train back to Aberdour in the dark.

Home for a shower and beer and eventually we hit Leith for dinner at the Kings Wark.

A 16 home and inane nonsense chatting until wee small hours.

Extra is something that made me chuckle when I saw it...!
