Treble Cone Cone Cone

Thursday is up the mountain day and it was a lovely clear day to do it. Just a light Northerly as The Boss picked up the phone to ring MY FRIEND PETER and discovered that The Treble Cone skifield opened today and as Peter had paid $5.00 for a season pass, he is a SOB (seriously Old Bloke) and gets SOB pricing, he had taken off with K (down from Auckland specially for this event) and was long gone. So no worries, we went alone. All the ice and pretty much all the snow was gone but there was lots of folk and nice ladies to chat to and we were over and down just in time for the DIG photogroup coffee morning. I had a ZZZ in Suzz. WELL I should have had a heads up on what happened next but The Boss popped the camera output on the monitor and picked todays journal and noticed (as will you in large) that there was snow blowing off the tops which meant that POP (Poor old Peter) had spent most of the time in the Café. No he doesn't drink coffee, 'Cos it was blowing like blazers and all they had was a run down the learners slope. Cheeeee!
Treble Cone is probably the most serious field in the area and you can get an idea why, by looking at the pic. Some summers it is open over January and there is great walking from the top of the chair lift which you can't quite see in this view. It needs snow from the North West so Southerlies which work well for Wanaka's other fields don't favour TC as well.
Peter was not amused.
