The Pimple

Well the weather was no more better today - dreary and grey,  which pretty well matched my mood! Kes woke me by barking as usual, he is used to having an early walk before Vegan Jo goes to work, so he gives me till 7.30 then comes up to the first landing and barks up the attic stairs. So I go down, let him outside, give him some food then make myself a George Clooney and go back to bed!
We finally made it out to feed the cats about midday and I photographed The Pimple from every angle whilst throwing the ball for Kes and keeping an eye on the ponies grazing on the Moorland. There were dog walkers and golfers in abundance, nothing seems to put these people off a walk and a game!
So a bit of info on The Pimple:-


The Pimple is a Grade II listed building designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens on Whitchurch Down, Devon. The Pimple was built in 1914 as a folly which also had a practical use. Houses were commissioned to be built by the Duke of Bedford in the nearby Down Road; these houses had to have a water supply. So a reservoir was constructed, the reservoir needed an entrance so it was decided build a folly which would provide a safe and secure portal for the reservoir. The pimple was  built of the local Hurdwick stone and Cornish Delabole slate.

It certainly is a cute little thing with great views!
