Storm Abigail
It's been a breezy day, lots of showers throughout the day and even hail and sleet at times. There has been patches of blue skies now and again but they soon vanished into a grey sky again. Still windy and heavy showers tonight. I slept through thunder and lightning storms last night!!
With all schools closed today, the museum school visits have been postponed. I spent the morning upstairs in the office and my time was taken up by photo orders for books and TV shows. Meet up with mam at lunchtime and then on the museum desk in the afternoon. It was a fairly quiet afternoon and not many people moving about.
Weekend off and hopefully the showers will ease, so I can get out with Sammy :)
Storm Abigail has been a huge disappointment, the worst of the storm has been with the media hype about it. The highest gusts of wind peaked at 80mph, just a normal breezy Shetland winter day. Why they closed schools, I don't know, we often get high winds and never a word said about it. I went out to Burra for a run at lunchtime to see what the sea was like, it was stormy but mostly just shore wash and hopefully some right waves will roll in tomorrow :) Taken from Burra and looking towards Westerwick.
