the sidekicks...

The only picture I got off my fat bum to take the entire weekend of Bry's birthday family camping trip...a tradition now in it's fourth year. (It also seems to be a bit of a tradition that I am so ensconsed in having a great time I don't really take many bloody pictures!)

What a great weekend, full of friends and laughter and good food and lovely booze and watching the kids spend huge chunks of time playing as far away from us as they could get. In fact, we all declared that finally our parenting dreams had come true - the day had arrived where they'd all look after each other more than we'd have to.

Bliss!

Sunday saw our friend Cat get her facepaints out. Struan requested a blue spiderman face first. Arlo decided it was the bomb so he got it too. They were both desperate to see what they looked like together so I finally got my act together and dug about in my tent for my camera so I could show them how they looked. Arlo was determined he was going to stand like a proper superhero (hence the very serious stance). Struan thought it was all hilarious.

Every time I look at this I think the scene is part Victorian family portrait, part Mexican wrestling team. Which gives me a great idea for dressing them up next year.....
