After the rains
I went into town today for a swim - leaving Alex at home being looked after by Dirk and his grand mother, this time I didn't leave instructions written out about what happens when, and everything seemed to go ok.
Yesterday morning, this river was the dried out river bed that it has been for a few months, normally with a few cattle on it, so it was quite uplifting to see it filled with running water. What I wasn't prepared for was the sound of the frogs when I got out of the car to take a picture, they were clearly very, very happy.
Alex is sitting by himself now, although I'm not brave enough to leave him sitting and always hover (or normally sit next to him), but he's doing well and loves to play with the coloured measuring cups from the kitchen or the stacking ring toy he has (which is probably too old for him, but I haven't got the box that will tell me and he likes it). He is one very happy, smiley little man.
