Inspiring local achievement.

For two separate weeks each year Mrs. K. and I come down to stay with our good friends in the Somerset village of Butleigh. As keen walkers we like to enjoy the local footpaths but when we first came down here several years ago the local footpath system was in sad state of decline with broken styles and gates and missing signs.

Led by the Chair of the Parish Council with a team of volunteers and with the cooperation of local landowners the network has been transformed. Over 70 new gates have been installed and many new signposts have been erected.

It is now a pleasure to walk round here thanks to the inspirational leadership and determination of many enthusiasts from the area.
