Happy Thanksgiving
For all you American blippers, I hope you have had a happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have had a wild and crazy and wonderful time involving a walk around Spring Lake, helium balloon races down the hall, a white elephant gift exchange, lots of cooking, fabulous cheese platters, beautiful veggie plates, wonderful wine, an enormous pot of mashed potatoes which we should have fashioned into the shape of a turkey, and while all the side dishes were going from splendid to cold, the turkey simply refused to reach an acceptable degree of doneness.
I have included in the extras a picture of three men studying the turkey with three different thermometers in it. In the end, we ate all the side dishes and and none of the 15 pound turkey because there was a lack of consensus as to whether it was done. I may actually get a new oven out of this mini disaster, plus I may never have to cook another turkey. I have tried upon occasion to introduce something other than turkey for Thanksgiving to wails of protest. After today, even the most devout traditionalists have admitted that they really didn't like turkey that much….Scientific analysis will take place tomorrow over a huge pot of turkey soup as to what happened….
Jim and Peter were missing from the family group this year because they spent the holiday with his parents in Indiana..
