Advent service at St Martin's in the Field..

It being the beginning of Advent today and it having become something of a tradition to go to the service at St Martin's. Engineering works meant leaving home to catch the 3.29 train for the 5pm service. We got there in time to watch the altar candles being lit. Very soothing in the soft lighting from the chandeliers.

As usual, it was a very good service with great choral pieces by the choir and magnificent organ recitals. 

My extra today is of the fun side of the season! There was a Santa run in Shortlands this afternoon and this family were determined to have a great time.
